Hidden Vegetable Lasagne & Garlic Bread

Specially developed for those fussy eaters who don't like vegetables!  Mums will be thrilled!

Serves 2-3 • Ready in Ready in 45 minutes

You Will Need

For the lasagne:

  • 500g minced beef
  • 1 jar of Ragu Hidden Vegetable sauce
  • 1 jar of Ragu White lasagne sauce
  • 250g pre-cooked lasagne sheets
  • Grated cheese

For the garlic bread:

  • 1 stick of Italian or French bread
  • Unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 1 heaped tablespoon of freshly chopped parsley
  • Fresh grated parmesan cheese (optional)


For the lasagne:

  1. Place 500g of mince beef into a saucepan and stir over a medium heat for 5 minutes or until lightly browned all over.  Pour off any excess fat.  Pour in the contents of one jar of Ragu Hidden Vegetable Sauce (650g) and bring to the boil, stirring occasionally
  2. Allow to simmer for 10 minutes ensuring the meat is thoroughly cooked
  3. Spread a layer of the mince mixture on the bottom of the ovenproof dish
  4. Cover with a layer of ready to use lasagne sheets and coat with a layer of Ragu White Lasagne sauce
  5. Repeat, finishing with a layer of the white sauce
  6. Sprinkle with grated cheese and cook in a pre-heated oven at 180°C/ gas mark 4/350°F for approx. 30 minutes until golden brown.

For the garlic bread:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C/ gas mark 4/350°F
  2. Cut the bread in half, horizontally
  3. Mix the butter, garlic and parsley together in a small bowl
  4. Spread the butter mixture over the two bread halves
  5. Place on a sturdy baking tray and heat in the oven for 10 minutes
  6. When cooked, sprinkle parmesan cheese over the bread (if you want to use cheese)
  7. Return back to the oven on the highest rack for 2-3 minutes until the edges of the bread begin to toast and the cheese melts
  8. Remove from the oven and leave to cool for a minute
  9. Cut into thick slices and serve
